Biomechanical Assessment

Examination of the movement, structure and mechanics of the lower limb helps to determine the cause of your pain or discomfort.

It can also reveal issues with foot and leg alignment that can then be corrected or improved with non-invasive therapy at the clinic such as a prescription of orthotics.

Your podiatrist can also write a referral if a surgical opinion needs to be considered.

Footwear is very important and the wear patterns and fit of your shoes can also be checked when selecting the best orthotics for your feet.

Diabetes Foot Health

Prevention is key

Feet need regular checks and daily monitoring by individuals. A yearly podiatry check-up is essential to maintain healthy feet for those with Diabetes. More regular appointments for general foot care may also be required to prevent injury.

Having Diabetes can harm the nerves (neuropathy) in your feet, affect blood circulation and increase the risk of infection. Diabetes can also result in foot ulcers due to complications such as a loss of balance and an inability to feel damage occurring to your feet.

Poor circulation inhibits the body’s ability to heal which means that small cuts, scratches, and infections can in the worst cases lead to amputation/s.
